Daniel Thomas Will Prove He Is a Fantasy Football Stud

Richard LangfordOct 16, 2011

Daniel Thomas is already a fantasy stud. It's just injuries have kept this from becoming an irrefutable fact.

Thomas was saddled by injuries in the preseason. This caused him to miss the opener. He returned to the field for the Dolphins second and third games before tweaking his hamstring, and missing the fourth.

This leaves him questionable for their Monday Night game against the Jets, but all indications are that he will play. And when he plays, he produces.

In his two games he has 41 carries for 202 yards. That is good for an impressive 4.9 yards per carry.

Thomas is elusive and explosive, and he will have plenty of opportunities to showcase this against the Jets' defense.

Playing the Jets used to signal doom for running backs. Those days are gone. The Jets are 26th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game. They are giving up 135 yards on the ground per game.

Daniel Thomas will get as many carries in this one as his bodies allows. In his limited time, Thomas has established himself as the Dolphins best running back. Reggie Bush has struggled mightily as an every down back for the Dolphins, and he will give way to Thomas here.

The Dolphins will be playing their first game since their starting QB Chad Henne was lost to a season ending injury. Matt Moore will take over for Henne under center, and an already struggling offensive unit is likely to find more struggles.

This will undoubtedly result in the Dolphins leaning on their run game early and often.
