Cam Newton Video: Watch Panthers QB Do His Best Deion Sanders Impression

Cam Newton and Deion Sanders.

These two names don't have a whole lot in common, but the Carolina Panthers' rookie quarterback has just linked himself to the Hall of Fame cornerback with his latest NFL touchdown.

Deion Sanders, also known as Prime Time, was notorious for his high-stepping into the end zone and sideways shuffling after that.

Newton didn't get a chance to go high-stepping, but he did bring out his best Prime Time impression once in the end zone.

The quarterback dropped back to pass on 3rd-and-5 but couldn't find anyone open.

Instead, he took off left, beat the defenders around the edge and willed himself into the end zone for a TD that tied the game at the time from 14 yards out.

He then proceeded to treat us to a Sanders impression in Atlanta (where Sanders started his NFL career) before going ahead with his signature Hulk Hogan/Superman-esque chest rip routine.

The quarterback simply does everything for this football team, and would probably play defense if asked.

Carolina has a special player in Newton, but they need to add weapons around him if it is going to completely work for them.

Too many times we've seen him bring this team close and they couldn't rally to help.

Until that time comes, we can at least be excited about his ability to make plays and entertain us once in the end zone.

He's proving to be every bit the No. 1 overall pick so far in his career and he's even surpassed many expectations as a thrower.

Get used to seeing Newton score touchdowns for this football team. And if we're lucky, we'll get to see more Sanders too.
