NFL WEEK 14: Picks from a Patriots' Perspective

The past few weeks I have participated in picking games from a Patriots perspective with some fellow Patriots fanatics.  This week we have: me, C Douglas Baker, Glenn Card, and William Berry.

Here are our picks.

WEEK 14

Houston @ Green Bay:

Glenn Card: I just don’t pick against the Packers at home. I’ve been burned by this rule a couple of times this year.

C. Douglas Baker:  Houston had a good game last week but Green Bay is fighting for their playoff lives.  Green Bay.

William Berry:  Packers.

Cincinnati @ Indianapolis:

Glenn Card: Cincinnati is getting embarrassed by everyone. Indianapolis continues their winning ways.

C. Douglas Baker:  No brainer.  The Colts.

William Berry:  C'mon, it's the Bengals, yes the Patriots need the Coltsto lose, but, C'mon.

Atlanta @ New Orleans:

Glenn Card: Atlanta has impressed me. Drew Brees should have a lot of success and get another step closer to the record but the Falcons seem to be able to find ways to win.

C. Douglas Baker:  The Falcons are hot, the Saints are not, but I am still going with the Saints at home.

William Berry:  Saints (Divisional at home) 

Philadelphia @ New York Giants:

Glenn Card: I know I should be picking the Giants at home. I just have this feeling that McNabb read my last weeks pick when I said he was washed up and he’s fired up. Eagles win this surprise upset.

C. Douglas Baker:  I don’t think last week against the Cardinals was a fluke, but I don’t think it was the rebirth of the Eagles and Donovan McNabb either.  Giants are the best team in the NFL.  Giants.

William Berry:  Giants (Divisional at home).

Cleveland @ Tennessee:

Glenn Card: The Titans clinch this week at home.

C. Douglas Baker:  The Browns are down to their third string QB Ken Dorsey.  Another easy call.  Titans.

William Berry:  Titans.

Jacksonville @ Chicago:

Glenn Card: Jacksonville has the tendency to kill themselves with penalties and turnovers. The Bears should win this one at home.

C. Douglas Baker:  I think Jacksonville has imploded this season and have nothing to play for except pride, and I don’t think they have that anymore.  Bears.

William Berry:  Bears.

Minnesota @ Detroit:

Glenn Card: Minnesota is in first position of the NFC North and this is a divisional game where they won’t allow the Lions to even sniff the end zone. Vikings win on the road.

C. Douglas Baker:  Minnesota is going to help Detroit along to their quest for 0-16.

William Berry:  Vikings.  Yes, divisional @ home, but it is the Lions.

New England @ Seattle:

Glenn Card: The Patriots have to travel to the west coast but it’s easier traveling west than it is east. The Patriots should win this as they rebound from the spanking they got last week.

C. Douglas Baker:  The Patriots should beat up on the woeful Seattle Seahawks.

William Berry:  Patriots because I’m a homer.

Miami @ Buffalo (in Toronto):

Glenn Card: Miami gets a step closer to a wild card spot with a win this week. The Dolfins win this away game against the self destructing Bills.

C. Douglas Baker:  Buffalo has gone into a nose dive.  Miami should take this one.

William Berry:  Dolphins (Yes, divisional @ home, but it is in Toronto in a dome.) 

Kansas City @ Denver:

Glenn Card: Kansas City has to try to go to Mile High and beat this Denver team that is trying to stay in the hunt. Broncos win this home game.

C. Douglas Baker:  I would like to see Kansas City win another game but I don’t think it will happen in Denver.  Denver.

William Berry:  Broncos (Divisional at home) 

New York Jets @ San Francisco:

Glenn Card: Brett Farve can win some crazy games for you but he can also throw them away. If the Jets can’t get the running game going then the 49ers can steal this one. I call this one an upset and San Fran wins at home.

C. Douglas Baker:  Oh why do the Jets have such an easy schedule???  Jets.

William Berry:  Jets (I’d love to pick against them, but the 49ers?)

St. Louis @ Arizona:

Glenn Card: The Cardinals will win this home game as they try to get on a roll going into the playoffs.

C. Douglas Baker:  The Rams are horrible this year.  Easy pick, the Cardinals.

William Berry:  Cardinals (Divisional at home and Rams are not great.)

Dallas @ Pittsburgh:

Glenn Card: The Cowboys have to go into Pittsburg and win one from a team that just slapped the Patriots around. The Steelers defense wins this one for them.

C. Douglas Baker:  The Pittsburgh defense is the biggest bully on the block.  Pittsburgh takes Dallas down this week.

William Berry:  Steelers (Home field disadvantage does not start for Pittsburgh until the playoffs.) 

Washington @ Baltimore:

Glenn Card: The Ravens are playing for a wild card spot and they’re not going to let the Skins spoil that for them.

C. Douglas Baker:  I’ll be rooting for the foreskins, but the Ravens defense is going to tear a new [expletives deleted] in Jason Campbell and the rest of the Redskins' offense.  Ravens.

William Berry:  Redskins because I'm a Patriots homer. 

Tampa Bay @ Carolina:

Glenn Card: I keep picking against Tampa Bay and they are now 9 – 3. They go up against a Panthers team that is also 9 – 3 and it’s a division game at home. Carolina wins this one.

C. Douglas Baker:  This is a tough pick for me but I just have a wee little feeling that the Buccaneers are going to pull this one off. 

William Berry:  Panthers
