NFL Picks Week 6: Last Minute Predictions for the Early Games
With the early games set to kick off in an hour, it’s time to make some last minute predictions based on the current lines.
These have been shifting like crazy and will continue to do so over the next hour, but you should be able to find some value and perhaps waiting a few minutes for more movement could benefit your wager.
Keep that in mind before making a play this week and always look for the best line.
Green Bay Packers (-14) Over St. Louis Rams
Packers have proven they will cover a spread this large against a team with a struggling defense.
In Week 4, they knocked the Broncos off, 49-23, and easily covered the 12.5-point spread that was set for the game. Expect them to handle their business against a bad Rams team.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-12.5) Over Jacksonville Jaguars
This is another game where it is beneficial to lay the big points. Jacksonville is 1-4 against the spread this season and the Steelers will cover this just fine.
Remember Pittsburgh covered a 13.5-point spread earlier in the season against Seattle and should be just fine for this game as well.
Washington Redskins (+3) Over Philadelphia Eagles
I love the home team in a division rivalry game getting three points.
The Eagles are collapsing before our eyes and I can see Vick and his offense having trouble with a tough Redskins’ defense.
Detroit Lions (-5.5) Over San Francisco 49ers
This is one of the toughest calls this week to make a pick for.
Both of these teams are 4-0-1 ATS this season and it seems that one of them will have to lose.
I’m going with the 49ers to fall first this season, as Detroit is home and riding a huge surge of momentum with their big win on Monday Night Football.
Carolina Panthers (+3.5) Over Atlanta Falcons
Cam Newton can’t seem to win a game but he can certainly cover a spread.
Since failing to cover in his first game in the NFL, Newton has rattled off four straight victories ATS.
Atlanta is just 1-4 ATS this season and I see them potentially losing this game and being exposed as a fraud.
Cincinnati Bengals (-5.5) Over Indianapolis Colts
I really would not touch this game at all.
These teams are both highly unpredictable and it seems like it could go either way. Cincinnati is at home and is playing surprisingly good defense, so that’s the call if you need to make one.
Stay away from this if you can.
Buffalo Bills (+3) Over New York Giants
The Giants lost to the Seahawks last week and are overrated because of their media market and large fan base.
The Bills are eager to prove they are legitimate because they are 4-1 and still have doubters.
Soundly beating the Giants will prove they belong in the discussions as one of the top teams in the league.
