HuskersGameday Fearless Predictions for Big 12 and SEC Championship Games
As Husker fans are well aware, the Big 12 Championship game has a long history of surprising conventional wisdom. 2008 will not be one of those times. Even though Oklahoma is weak on defense, nothing is stopping this team from winning this game.
Plain and simple, they are too hot to be stopped. Not even the cold weather in Kansas City will stop the Sooners.
That’s not to discredit Missouri, but they just don’t have the horses, and the momentum, to hang with the Sooners.
Missouri already played their bowl game when the played the Huskers in Lincoln. Since then, they’ve been a huge disappointment and haven’t played that well since, while Oklahoma has played like a team possessed.
HG still has questions about Oklahoma’s defense and their effectiveness away from home but they will have to wait until the BCS Championship to get exposed.
Oklahoma 55, Missouri 42
If you were to read the papers, blogs, and watch ESPN, you would guess the undefeated team was Florida. But it’s not. It’s Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide. Very quietly, the Tide have racked up an impressive season while everyone has been focusing on Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida.
They’ve slaughtered then-No. 9 Clemson in the season-opener, then-No. 3 Georgia "Between the Hedges," rivals Tennessee and Auburn by a combined score of 65-9, and have been through the brutal SEC unscathed.
Yet they are a 10-point ‘dog to Florida.
HG says something doesn’t add up.
HG not only believes ‘Bama will cover that 10-point spread. HG recommends you increase your Christmas Cash and take Alabama and the money line.
That’s where the money is on this game. Betting Florida -10 is risky and taking Alabama +10 too obvious.
Take a walk on the dark side and let Nick "Satan" Saban increase your spending cash.
You throw down $10 on ‘Bama, it returns you $38.
