Alabama Football: Victory Next Week Will Set Up Salivating Matchup with LSU
The undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide will absolutely crush the Tyler Bray-less Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday, setting up a salivating game with LSU on November 5th.
The Tide possess the nation's best defense (statistically), allowing just seven points per game. They've made ranked teams (Penn State, Arkansas, Florida) look like highschoolers. I'm predicting a shutout (that's right, shutout) when they take on Tennessee, who are 0-3 in SEC play thus far.
Alabama running back Trent Richardson is an absolute beast and should run all over Tennessee. If the junior (729 yards, 11 touchdowns) isn't at the top of the Heisman watch, something is seriously wrong with college football.
After dominating the Volunteers, the Tide will take their unblemished record into the matchup with LSU, which will have major championship implications.
The SEC foes are currently ranked one and two in the AP Top 25 poll. Whoever wins will likely play in the national championship game in January.
LSU's defense is just as scary as Alabama's, if not more so. Led by fiery sophomore cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, the Tigers defense is legitimately frightening. The game is still three weeks away, but Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron should be having nightmares about LSU right now.
I'm predicting LSU to beat the Tide, because I simply can't picture them losing to anyone. Richardson and Alabama will pose a huge threat to the Tigers' BCS chance, but eventually they will fall.
Unlike LSU's previous games against ranked teams, this one will not be a blowout. The nation's two nastiest defenses will be on display and points will be damn near impossible to come by.
This will be an incredible game, one I cannot wait for.
And if Tennessee or Auburn screws up their perfect records in the meantime, I will be seriously pissed.
