NFL Picks Week 6: Packers, Raiders and Teams That Will Cover the Spread

Andrew KulhaMay 31, 2018

It's never easy to really determine if a team will cover the spread in the NFL, but the Packers, Raiders and a few other teams have a very good shot at doing so in Week 6 of the 2011 NFL season.

Whether it's the matchups or just the overall momentum coming into a game, some games are just easier than others to pick with the spread.

It's usually a safe bet to take the favorite, but that being said, it's not a fool-proof system, so I don't recommend just blindly betting on the favorites.

 Green Bay Packers -15

The Packers should have absolutely no problem being a banged up St. Louis Rams team at Lambeau Field. Not only that, but they should have no problem covering this spread. Aaron Rodgers is unstoppable, and the Packers defense should be all over the Rams hurting offense.

The Steelers had a pretty rough start to this season with injuries, but they're starting to bounce back. They have a very young and inexperienced Jacksonville Jaguars coming into town led by rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert. I expect this will be a blowout.

This will probably be the easiest bet you've ever made in your life. The Raiders would cover this spread in a normal game, but this is not even close to being a normal game. The Cleveland Browns are coming into Oakland to play the Raiders for the first time since legendary Owner Al Davis died. It's going to be a ridiculous home-field advantage, and I think the Raiders are going to "just win baby," as well as easily cover.

If the Raiders game was the easiest bet, then this is the second easiest. The Jets are playing the Miami Dolphins at home on Monday Night Football. The Jets haven't been good, but coach Rex Ryan still believes they are good enough to win the Super Bowl. If that's true, they have to destroy the pathetic Dolphins, which they will.
