NFL Trade Rumors: Brandon Lloyd and 3 Potential WR Targets for Buffalo Bills

Josh SchochOct 15, 2011

The Buffalo Bills are off to a very surprising start, but they are going to need to trade for a wide receiver if they want to stay competitive.  The Bills have had some serious injury problems at wide receiver, and they are going to be try to deal for a replacement.

The Bills traded away Lee Evans to the Baltimore Ravens before the season started, Roscoe Parrish is done for the season because of an ankle injury and second-year receiver Marcus Easley was placed on IR because of a heart ailment.

The Bills can't keep throwing to Steve Johnson, and they are now in the market for finding a new receiver.  So far, it looks like these three guys are their top choices:

Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts

Once Adam Schefter mentioned a trade involving Reggie Wayne as a deal that should happen, the sports world has been buzzing.

The Colts are having a horrible season without quarterback Peyton Manning, and it is time for them to start dealing players.  Among those players should be Reggie Wayne.

Wayne is 32 and is nearing the end of his career.  While he has done well in Indy, the Colts need to try to rebuild their team for the future, while the Bills are going to do everything they can to make it back to the playoffs.

Wayne certainly could be traded, and Buffalo would no doubt be one of his suitors.

Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs

This is another player who should be traded according to Schefter. Not that he is reporting it, but it could still happen.

The Chiefs are arguably the worst team in the NFL, and after suffering a 41-7 loss against the Bills back in Week 1, they could now give them their best receiver.

Bowe is only 27, but the Chiefs are going to need a lot of time and draft picks to make their team as young as they would like.  This team is built for the future, and trading Bowe for an early draft pick would certainly help them along the way.

The Bills know that they need a receiver who can stretch the field like Bowe, so they should be going after him as hard as they can.

According to this report, Brandon Lloyd is on the trading block.  There is apparently a 90 percent chance that Lloyd is traded, and the Bills are among his suitors.

Buffalo desperately needs another receiver, so it wouldn't be surprising to see them offer a fourth, or even a third-round pick for Lloyd.  This team wants to win now, and they are going all out to make it back to the playoffs.

Lloyd would certainly help them do that, and as a player who is almost definitely getting traded, the Bills are certainly looking into him as an option.
