NFL Picks Week 6: Buffalo Bills vs. NY Giants and 3 Other Close Games

Josh SchochOct 15, 2011

We couldn't have asked for a more exciting five weeks of football, and the young 2011-12 NFL season is going to give us more thrillers in Week 6.

These three games are all going to come down to the wire, and hopefully they will go to overtime.

The Redskins have been one of the biggest surprises so far this season, going 3-1.  The Eagles have also been surprising, but for all the wrong reasons, going a miserable 1-4.

The Eagles now travel to Washington to take on the NFC East-leading Redskins, and this game will come down to the wire.

The Redskins have home-field advantage, an extra week to prepare, and the knowledge that the Eagles have been absolutely terrible so far.

The Redskins are going to pound the ball down the Eagles' throats by running the ball effectively with their great ground game.  The Eagles can't stop the run, so the Redskins will be scoring a lot.

Still, the Eagles' offense will keep them in this game until the end.

The Eagles have had plenty of close games this season, and they are going to be involved in another one this week.

These two teams have both done surprisingly well. The 49ers are 4-1, with their only loss coming in overtime against the Cowboys.

The Lions, of course, are a perfect 5-0.

San Francisco runs the ball well on offense and has the fourth-best run defense as well.  They are going to utilize the ground game to run over Detroit's mediocre run defense. They will also bottle up Jahvid Best nicely.

While the 49ers take to the ground, the Lions are going to air it out with Matt Stafford's arm on offense.  If the Lions can avoid turnovers, they will do well but that's a big "if" against this San Francisco defense.

This is going to be one of the best games of the week, and it already has playoff implications.

Make sure you watch this one.

The Buffalo Bills have gotten off to a 4-1 start, and they are playing well.  This week, they travel to New Jersey to take on the Giants and this game should be incredibly close.

The Bills have a great run game led by Fred Jackson and a competitive passing game led by Ryan Fitzpatrick.  The team has a high-powered offense, but their defense is lacking.

Eli Manning will throw the ball a lot, and the Giants will score big if he doesn't throw interceptions.

This game should be a shootout and come down to the wire, just like the rest of Buffalo's games this year, excluding Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
