Here's the latest on the Lloyd trade rumors:

Brandon Lloyd Trade Rumors

Earlier today, word came out that the Denver Broncos are looking to shop around their star wideout. The two teams that were tied closest to the rumors were the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post broke the news earlier today:

"

"With the NFL trade deadline looming, the Broncos have been in talks with other teams regarding Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd, according to three NFL sources.

"The Broncos are believed to be seeking anywhere from a third- to fifth-round draft pick in return. There have been 'three or four' teams who have expressed interest in Lloyd, according to a source, with Carolina and Tennessee among them.

"The NFL trading deadline is Tuesday. Once that deadline passes, a team cannot trade a player under contract until the 2012 offseason opens in March."

"

Here's a Tweet from ProFootballTalk also mentioning the rumor:

All of this talk was followed a few hours later by a Tweet from the Panthers official Twitter feed, citing head coach Ron Rivera refuting the rumor that Carolina is interested:

Finally, ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando believes that the St. Louis Rams would actually be the best trading partner:

"

"The need is obvious, and the fit would seemingly be right with Lloyd's former head coach in Denver, Josh McDaniels, now running the Rams offense. Danny Amendola is out for the season, and the Rams lead the league in drops with 12 despite already having their bye week. Lloyd has dropped only one pass in 32 targets this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. He flourished under McDaniels."

"

Lloyd is obviously a huge name on the trade block, and he has a ton to offer any of these prospective teams. Denver believes that he is expendable, especially considering the fact that they are rather deep at wide receiver, and Lloyd's contract is running out after this season.

If he is indeed traded, he is obviously going to be looking for a new contract, so it's definitely going to be an interesting few days.

Stay tuned to Bleacher Report for all the latest on the Lloyd situation, as well as anything regarding the 2011 NFL trade deadline.
