Big East Expansion: Why Boise State Would Be Crazy to Decline Big East Invite

Boise State, along with five other teams, have been invited to the Big East, according to College Football Talk. The Broncos shouldn't just consider the offer, they should jump at the chance to join an expanding conference that would present them with an opportunity to win a national championship.

This year has highlighted everything that's wrong with Boise State staying in the Mountain West. They went out and scheduled a game against Georgia in what they thought was going to be a game that they could point to as their signature win.

They're undefeated and it looks like they are going to run the table. Kellen Moore has proven that he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country, and his last year in the program is going exactly how the team had hoped it would from the beginning.

Even so, Boise State isn't going to a national championship. With Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Wisconsin, Stanford and Oklahoma amongst the undefeated teams in the nation, Boise State's undefeated record will be seen as less impressive than a team who actually encounters legitimate teams on a weekly basis.

The Broncos deserve a shot at winning it all but, once again, they are going to be snubbed because of the conference they play in. The Big East will give them exposure they simply don't have right now.

No longer would they be the little team holding their own against the bigger conferences. They would be the shining star of what looks like it's going to be one of the biggest conferences in the nation.

While some may argue that it's better to be a big fish in a small pond, such is not the case for Boise State. The Broncos are good enough to hold their own and make some noise immediately. With super conferences forming, they have an opportunity to join one and win out of the gate.

Boise State wouldn't be joining a loaded conference jam-packed with ranked teams, but they would certainly have more opportunities to prove to the nation that they are legitimate.
