Fantasy Football Rankings Week 6: Darrius Heyward-Bey and More Unexpected Gems

Michael DixonOct 14, 2011

With six teams on a bye week and injuries, you might need to look long and hard to find a good replacement, even at a deep position like receiver.

Still, there are some nice options out there that can potentially bring in some huge point totals. These guys are all in good matchups, so give them some thought.

Darrius Heyward-Bey

I'll be the first to admit that I didn't exactly see this one coming at the beginning of the year. But over the last two weeks, DHB has caught 11 passes for 214 yards and one touchdown.

I don't care what kind of scoring your league uses with receivers—that is an extremely productive average. With Joe Haden not playing for the Browns, I am expecting more productivity from Heyward-Bey.

The Raiders will be passing the ball a lot on Sunday. Heyward-Bey is by no means their only threat, but he will get his share of points.

He's available in most ESPN leagues. If you get your hands on him, don't hesitate.

James Jones

Other than Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley, anyone on the Packers is something of a gamble. They just have so many weapons, so it's easy to get lost in the shuffle.

But the Packers also have Aaron Rodgers throwing the ball around, so getting lost in the shuffle doesn't seem like too much of a concern.

Against the Rams, I expect Rodgers to have an absolute field day. That means that Jones and a few other Packers are likely to do the same.

Torrey Smith

After a huge game against the Rams, Smith came back to earth against the Jets. While I am not expecting another 152-yard, three-touchdown afternoon against the Texans, I don't think they will limit him like the Jets did.

The Texans defense is good, but it does have holes. Don't be surprised if Joe Flacco and Smith can expose those holes and have a nice day.
