Luke Donald to Play Final Event of the PGA Tour Fall Series at Disney
October 14, 2011
Luke Donald tweeted Friday that he would be playing in the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic next week.
This comes on the heels of a remarkable 63 shot by overnight co-leader Webb Simpson, who currently trails Donald by $67,980.
The world's No. 1 golfer has a chance to accomplish something very significant this season, as he is the current money leader on both the PGA and European Tours.
Donald has enjoyed more success this season than any other in his career. He has one win on the PGA Tour and two more on the European Tour (three counting the Accenture Match Play Championships, which counts towards both tours), as well as two second place and third place finishes and 13 top tens.
Here is the tweet:
@LukeDonald There was never really a decision to be made, I have a chance of making history. See you all at Disney next week #bringiton
Donald has not played in the PGA TOURโs final Fall Series event since 2003 when he missed the cut.
If Webb Simpson wins this week Donald would almost certainly have to take first next week in order to win the money title.
