Liverpool vs Manchester United: Rivalry Won't End Well for LeBron James' Club

Matt FaulconerOct 14, 2011

Sorry, LeBron James, Liverpool stands no chance of knocking off Manchester United in this epic match.

The Red Devils are off to a hot start this season. Up to this point in the season, they have recorded six victories in seven games, and played to one draw.

They have been on fire behind the foot of Wayne Rooney to this point in the season. Rooney is coming off a poor performance against Montenegro for the English National Team, which has led to a three-match ban in the Euro 2012 group stages.

Expect him to put that aside and come out strong against a Liverpool team that has struggled to defend at times. They have conceded eight goals through seven games, while the Red Devils have netted 24 during that span.

That doesn't bode well for Liverpool, who have only registered ten goals. To make matters worse, Manchester United has played solid defense for most of the season, as they have conceded just five goals.

Nearly half of those goals came in an 8-2 thrashing of Arsenal at Old Trafford.

United have been solid on the road to this point in the season, as they have yet to lose on the road, and have a +6 goal differential. The Reds have been solid at home this year, as they have not dropped a game. Their goal differential at home is just +3, and they haven't seen the likes of Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney yet.

Liverpool should hang tough in this one, but look for United to breakthrough in this one. They have the more talented side, and are playing with more chemistry at this moment. It will be a battle, there is no doubt about that, but LeBron will leave Anfield disappointed.
