NFL Rumors: Jacksonville Jaguars Must Land Bill Cowher to Turn Franchise Around

It's that time of the year. The time when another Bill Cowher rumor surfaces. This latest rumor has "The Chin" landing with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The rumor is being reported by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He claims that Cowher has bought a house in Marsh Landing, and will be replacing Jack Del Rio as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Before Jaguars fans jump for joy, Dulac does inform us that Cowher has been rumored to have bought more houses than Donald Trump.

He's right. There was a rumor that he bought a house in Cleveland and was going to coach the Browns. Those rumors were even "confirmed" by fans.

There were reports of Cowher hanging out in Kansas City, and that he even bought a home there as well.

Cowher did buy a home in Raleigh as well, and was rumored to be interested in the Carolina Panthers job.

Everyone needs to drop the "Cowher is buying a home" rumors. They haven't been true yet, and there is no reason to think they are true this time around.

With that being said, it doesn't mean the Jaguars don't need Cowher. The franchise is in disarray at this point. The team released David Garrard just days before the start of the regular season and handed the ropes to Luke McCown. That didn't last long, as he is now riding the pine, with Blaine Gabbert at the helm.

Cowher could immediately come in and develop this team around a franchise quarterback. What more could he possibly ask for?

The Jaguars have potential if they have the right coach, and they bring in the right personnel. Cowher could certainly make that happen, but will he want to take on a rebuilding project?

That remains to be seen, but we do know that Del Rio is not the answer. The Jags should go all in on Cowher, and bring "The Chin" to the Sunshine State.
