Kimbo Slice Video: Watch Former UFC Star Dominate in Scorpion King 3 Trailer

Kimbo Slice gained fame thanks to popular Internet videos that featured him engaging in backyard brawls. Slice was able to parlay his viral success into a contract with the now-defunct EliteXC mixed martial arts organization, and eventually a deal with UFC.

Unfortunately for Kimbo, his UFC career lasted just two official fights, as he was released after losing to Matt Mitrione in May 2010. With his MMA career all but over, Slice has turned his attention to the world of acting.

Kimbo has garnered parts in minor movies before, but he is set to star in his most high-profile role to date in the third installment of the popular Scorpion King series, The Scorpion King 3: Battle For Redemption.

In a lot of ways, Kimbo lost his reputation as a legitimate tough guy due to his underwhelming foray into MMA. Luckily for him, Scorpion King 3 gives him an opportunity to repair his image and serve as a reminder that he was once considered to be one of the toughest SOBs on the planet.

Slice certainly looks intimidating in the trailer as he jumps out of a lake, wields a sword and wears face paint that reminds me of former WWE wrestler Kamala. It's unclear if he truly has an acting skills, but if director Roel Reine was thinking for somebody to play the role of a savage warrior, then he made the right choice with Kimbo.

It wasn't long ago that Kimbo's popularity was at an all-time high, but it has certainly died down over the past year. If Slice proves his worth in Scorpion King, then he may be able to carve out a nice niche for himself as an action movie star.

We'll see if his acting career plays out better than his MMA career, but judging by this role, it seems as though may already be more successful on the silver screen than in the octagon. Just as the title of the movie suggests, this is Kimbo's battle for redemption.
