Boise State Broncos: Move to the Big East Might Be Helped by BCS Guarantee
Another day, another story. It looks like the Big East Conference has looked into the fine print.
What did they find?
They are guaranteed a BCS table setting through the 2015 season. There is only one catch: it has to have at least eight teams in its conference playing football.
What does this do for Boise State Broncos?
Well, for starters, they would know that the automatic bid into a BCS game would be around for at least the next four season. Not only that, but it would probably help to lure other teams that are feeling a little shaky about signing up for the new Big East.
Boise State is apparently taking its time and weighing its options before jumping over to the east side. That makes me feel pretty good about the state of the Boise State University. I think the Broncos are in great hands with President Bob Kustra, acting Athletic Director Curt Apsey, and of course, coach Chris Petersen.
I don't know how you feel about it, but I think the university has handled this whole situation in a professional way. But, then again, what did we expect? That is usually what we get from these guys.
Like you, I am interested on how this will all pan out.
One thing for sure: However it does end up, it will probably be what's in the best interest for Boise State, its players and its fans.
I will keep you posted.
