NFL Picks Week 6: Philadelphia Eagles and Teams That Will Get Much-Needed Wins

Several teams need a win this week to keep their playoff hopes alive. That list includes the Philadelphia Eagles, who have a big matchup against the division rival Washington Redskins.

However, the Eagles aren't the only team in need of a win. The New York Jets face the winless Miami Dolphins in a game they need to keep pace with the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots.

Let's look at three NFL teams who have to win in Week 6 to improve their playoff chances. 

 

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are a team that you want to think of as an elite squad, but can't, because they almost always lose to the best teams.

The Texans will beat the NFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens this week, to prove they can compete with and defeat the best teams in the conference.

Running back Arian Foster will lead the rush-heavy offense that Houston will likely use this week, and the Texans pass defense will contain Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

The Texans will get a much needed win on Sunday, and take control of their division. 

 

Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick's unbelievable performance against Washington last season will certainly weigh on the minds of the Redskins, whether they admit it or not. 

Fortunately for Washington, they are playing much better in 2011. On the other hand, the Eagles—despite making some major offseason moves—are the ones playing poorly.

Vick and the Eagles will beat the Redskins on Sunday, getting a much needed win to climb back into the NFC East race.

Here's why: the Eagles' offense will put up too many points for the Redskins to compete with. What's more, the Redskins haven't play an elite team yet. Two of their three wins are against the Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams. That is, two of the worst teams in the NFL. Their only other win was against an inconsistent Giants team.

The Eagles offense will lead them to victory on Sunday. Michael Vick won't throw four interceptions again. 

 

New York Jets

The New York Jets need a win to avoid a 2-4 start to the season—a hole which would really make it difficult for them to get to the playoffs.

Luckily, they play the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. If the Jets lose, their will be a full scale panic in the Big Apple.

The Dolphins are 0-4 and have a terrible offense. The Jets won't find it difficult to score points through the ground or the air.

The Jets are playing the perfect opponent to get a winning streak going.
