Fantasy Football Week 6: Top Replacements for Players on Bye Week

Michael MillOct 13, 2011

We are getting to that time in the season where fantasy football owners are looking for part time replacements for players during their bye weeks.

These are key weeks that typically make or break the season for many fantasy owners who are sitting at subpar records.

These pickups are all about matchup and sleepers.

Here are three players who would be great replacements for players on bye weeks in week six.

QB Colt McCoy (Cleveland Browns)

Colt McCoy is still in the learning process when it comes to playing quarterback in the NFL.

The Browns are coming off of a bye week to face an Oakland Raider team that has given up an average of 20.5 points in fantasy football to opposing quarterbacks.

In McCoy's most recent game, he threw for 350 yards.

It's a chance, but if you need a quarterback, McCoy may be one to take a look at. If he stays hot he could have a pretty nice performance this week.

RB Ryan Torain (Washington Redskins)

Running backs are hard to come by in fantasy football. Right now the top sleeper pick up is Jackie Battle out of Kansas City.

However, the Chiefs are on a bye week.

Out of the lesser known running backs, Torain is the hot prospect to have a big game this weekend.

The Redskins are set to face an Eagles team that has been atrocious when it comes to stopping the run.

So bad, in fact, that if Torain is taken you may want to look at Roy Helu Jr. Even as a backup, Helu could have a 50 yard game with a possible touchdown against this defense.

WR Harry Douglas (Atlanta Falcons)

This weeks game between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons is poised to be a shootout.

Both teams lack a passing defense, and both possess a bunch of weapons on the offensive side of the ball.

One of the bigger weapons for Atlanta, rookie Julio Jones, is sidelined this week with an injury.

Harry Douglas will start the game in his spot.

This is a one week type of deal, but if you need a replacement at receiver, Douglas could have a huge game.
