Fantasy Football Week 14 Rankings: Tight Ends

Michael WhooleyDec 4, 2008

When looking at the top ten fantasy football Tight Ends through the seasons first 13 weeks the list of unfamiliar names is surprising. The likes of John Carlson, Kevin Boss, Visanthe Shiancoe and Dustin Keller went from undrafted players to must start on just about every week. Like we have said before, that's the beauty of fantasy sports and that's why you should visit a website like Bruno Boys to determine who you should start in your weekly lineup.

With that in mind, it's time to check out the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 14 Tight End Rankings.

--------------------

1. Tony Gonzalez (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Denver

Hands down, Tony Gonzalez has been the best Tight End in all of football this year. In the month of November he had 40 receptions for 437 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Plus, he has gone over 100 receiving yards in three of his last four games. Gonzo scored in an earlier meeting against Denver and he should do so again this week, making him the top Tight End play in Week 14.
Point Projection: 16 points

2. Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) @ Pittsburgh

Last week, Witten (115 receiving yards and a touchdown) showed his fantasy owners why they drafted him in the 3rd or 4th round of fantasy drafts. This week, things will be tough as the Steelers own the leagues top rated passing defense and have held the Tight End position to just 30.7 yards per game. Still, Witten should see plenty of targets from quarterback Tony Romo, who looks to be pressured all afternoon.
Point Projection: 12 points

3. Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers) vs. Oakland

Gates has just six fantasy points over the last three games and looks to be playing second fiddle in a disappointing San Diego offense. From here on out all the Chargers have to play for is pride and look for Gates to find his groove against Oakland, who he torched for 58 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week four.
Point Projection: 10 points

--------------------

4. Kevin Boss (New York Giants) vs. Philadelphia

Believe it or not, since Week 8 Boss has been quarterback Eli Manning's favorite target around the end-zone. He has four touchdowns in his last 6 games, went for 69 yards and a score against the Eagles earlier this year and the fact that he gets solid yardage make him a top five play.
Point Projection: 10 points

5. Zach Miller (Oakland Raiders) @ San Diego

Sleeper Alert! In all reality Miller shouldn't be considered a sleeper any longer, as he has 15 receptions over the last four games. Plus, the last time he took on San Diego he went for 95 yards and a touchdown and with San Diego allowing 70+ passing yards per game to the Tight End position Miller needs to be in your lineup.
Point Projection: Eight points
