Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups: 4 Underrated Sleepers You Can Start

Alex KayOct 13, 2011

Looking for some relatively unknown players to come up big this week for your fantasy football squad?

Let me help you out.

After checking waivers and doing some research, I’ve decided that these four players all have a high potential to put up points this week, and you wouldn’t even expect it at first.

Your opponent might chuckle at you for starting one of them this week, but you will be the one with the last laugh when one of these guys scores the touchdown that wins you the week.

Harry Douglas

With Julio Jones out with a hamstring injury in Week 6, the Falcons are going to lean on Douglas to help replace their first-round draft pick's production.

They are going up against the Carolina Panthers and their dynamo rookie QB, Cam Newton.

With the ability for each team to throw the ball and tough time defending the pass, I can see this being a barnburner. Douglas is going to get a bunch of targets and should produce nicely for you.

Jason Campbell

Yes, I am actually suggesting you start a Raiders quarterback if your starter is on a bye.

Campbell has been having some nice games and is very capable of going off for over 300 yards and a few touchdowns.

He might make some boneheaded plays every now and then but he’ll be just fine this week.

Remember he is going against a highly overrated Browns pass defense that has only played the Bengals, Dolphins, Colts and Titans. None of them are particularly skilled in the vertical game.

James Jones

The Packers are going to destroy the St. Louis Rams this week, and Aaron Rodgers has been spreading the ball around in his offense.

This great combination is going to lead to Jones scoring fantasy points.

He is clearly the No. 3 receiver on the team behind Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson, so look for him to be involved in a large amount of plays this week.

Derrick Mason

Super sleeper pick here.

This is risky, but Mason could see some playing time and even have a good day against the Ravens, his former team.

He knows that team inside and out and the Texans need a receiver to step up and perform with Andre Johnson out for a bit. Why not Mason?
