BCS Rankings 2011: Michigan Wolverines and 3 Bold Predictions for Top 10
The future of the 2011 College Football Season will be mapped out in less than a week, as the Bowl Championship Series ranking is about to be released. The poll that determines who plays for college football’s national title will be released on Sunday night, with die-hard fans on the edge of their seats.
The top three teams should not be a surprise to fans, as it will be either: Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma who battle it out for the top spot.
After those three teams it will be interesting to see which teams crack the top ten.
You may have a good idea as to who is going to be in the Top 10 come Sunday night, but here are three teams that will be serious contenders for the national title.
Michigan Wolverines
Michigan is defined by one person and one person only, their quarterback Denard Robinson. He has been responsible for their success this year, as the Wolverines are working on a perfect season through six games.
They are ranked No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and have a big game on the road against No. 19 Michigan State this week.
If they can get past the ranked Spartans, it will move this Michigan team into the Top 10 when the first BCS Poll is released.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas fans thought they were going to have a tough time replacing senior quarterback, Ryan Mallett. Well, the offense has not struggled under Tyler Wilson, as he has the team ranked ninth in the NCAA, averaging 336 yards per game.
The Razorbacks come into this week with a bye, so they cannot help their rankings before the BCS Poll is released. But, they are No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and have two wins over ranked teams.
This will be enough to rank them in the Top 10 come Sunday.
Clemson Tigers
Clemson has been the surprise team of the college football season. They started this year unranked and have shot up the polls after beating three straight ranked opponents.
The Tigers are currently ranked No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and are scheduled to play against a bad Maryland team this week. It will take something catastrophic for Clemson to not be included in the Top 10 on Sunday.
