NFL Picks Week 6: 6 Home Teams That Will Win with Ease

Bill RobbinsOct 13, 2011

With Week 6 of the 2011 NFL season coming up, it's time to take a more in-depth look at some of this weekend's matchups.

After looking at some of the Week 6 games, it's very possible that many home teams will perform well on Sunday.

Here are six of these home teams that are locks to win their games easily.

Green Bay Packers

1 of 6

I see this game as being the biggest blowout in the league in Week 6 of action.

It's pretty easy to see why.

The Packers have arguably the hottest QB in the league right now, and the Rams still haven't won a game yet due to their anemic offense.

Prediction: Packers 38, Rams 7

Detroit Lions

2 of 6

This game could be closer than I predict, but I still think that it is going to be a blowout.

The Lions have been excellent at home so far this season, and I don't see Alex Smith and the 49ers handing them their first loss at Ford Field this season.

Plus, who is going to cover Megatron when the Lions have the ball on offense?

Prediction: Lions 30, 49ers 13

Pittsburgh Steelers

3 of 6

The Pittsburgh defense has to be chomping at the bit, knowing that they will go against Jags rookie QB Blaine Gabbert this week.

Considering that they are first in the league in passing yards allowed with just 174 yards per game, Gabbert will likely struggle this weekend.

Couple that with how strong Big Ben and the Steelers pass offense have been, and you have a recipe for disaster for Jacksonville.

Prediction: Steelers 35, Jaguars 12

New England Patriots

4 of 6

The Pats offense has been nearly unstoppable this season with MVP QB Tom Brady behind the helm.

Veteran wideout Wes Welker is on pace for over 2,000 receiving yards, and New England is very hard to defeat at home.

There's no way that Dallas and their inconsistent QB play is going to have a chance in this one.

Prediction: Patriots 35, Cowboys 14

Baltimore Ravens

5 of 6

The Ravens have had one of the best defenses in the league for quite some time.

The Texans offense is 11th in the league in passing and fifth in the league in rushing.

Something will have to give, and it won't be Baltimore's defense.

Prediction: Ravens 28, Texans 10

Atlanta Falcons

6 of 6

I believe that this will be the game where the Falcons finally break out at home.

They are off to a surprising 2-3 start to the season, which hardly anyone expected going into the year.

This weekend, they will face a struggling 1-4 Carolina team that does not have the firepower on defense to match up against Matt Ryan and the Falcons passing offense.

Prediction: Falcons 34, Panthers 13
