Fantasy Hoops Waiver Wire Bin Vol. 4

Ryan LesterDec 4, 2008

I’ve scoured the fantasy baskeball waiver wires to find gems so you don’t have to.

G

C.J. Watson, Golden State

When Stephen Jackson got hurt, Watson stepped up his game.  Richardson is back, but Watson should continue to be a factor depending on the matchup.  He’s nice to stash on your bench because if there is another injury to Golden State’s backcourt, you know Watson will see a nice little bump.

On the year, he’s averaging 9.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals, which could be helpful in leagues with daily lineup changes.  In his last three games he averaged 16.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.0 steals, and shot 58.6 percent from the line without missing a free throw.  He qualifies at PG and SG in Yahoo leagues.

Anthony Roberson, New York

Robertson is another guy that plays in an up tempo Offense.  With Cuttino Mobley out, Robertson has been producing at a higher clip.  In his last three games he’s averaging 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, and 1.7 steals.  He shot 42.9% from the floor and 39.1 percent from behind the arc.  He also qualifies at both PG and SG.

F

Jeff Green, Oklahoma City

He’s only owned in 70 percent of Yahoo leagues so there are some cases where he’s availalbe.  Often bad teams produce solid fantasy players.  Someone has to score, right?  Well, Green has picked up his game in his second season.

In his last three games he’s been particularly solid averaging 20.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.7 three-pointers.  He’s shot an incredible 61.8% from the floor during that stretch.  His 75 percent from the line won’t hurt. He qualifies at both SF and PF.

Udonis Haslem, Miami

Haslem is owned in 69 percent of Yahoo leagues.  He’s been on a tear of late.  In his last four games he’s averaged 16.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks.  He’s shot 52.9 percent from the floor and an incredible 92.3 percent from the line.  He qualifies at PF and C.

C

Kendrick Perkins, Boston

I was surprised to see that Perkins is only owned in 59 percent of Yahoo leagues.  With 11.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, a 60.6 percent field goal percentage, and a 77.8 percent free throw percentage, that number should increase dramatically.
