Projected BCS Rankings 2011: Biggest Potential Top 25 Snubs
Every year there are a handful of teams that get snubbed from the college football BCS rankings.
It just seems to be the nature of the beast. Either they didn't have a big enough name, didn't come with enough hype or simply just got snubbed by the rankings system.
The BCS rankings will soon be out, which means we will soon be able to discuss at length what teams deserved to be in, and what teams are overrated.
It happens every year.
With that in mind, here are some potential Top 25 snubs that I see coming:
Notre Dame:
I think it's safe to say at this point that Notre Dame deserves to be in the Top 25. That being said, after their horrendous start, it's going to be tough for them to get back in. Their schedule is rather easy, which makes it easy to keep them out of the rankings. In the end, they beat Michigan State rather handily at home, and MSU is currently ranked 23 in the AP. The Irish very well might get snubbed.
Florida:
If the Gators never lost quarterback John Brantley, they would still be a Top 15 team at the very least. There is no doubting that they are talented, they just got bit by the injury bug pretty badly this season. They feature a speedy and talented offense though with a great running game, and play a very tough SEC schedule. That being said, without Brantley I think they are getting snubbed.
USC:
The Trojans won't get any Top 25 love until they are done with their NCAA sanctions. Yes, I know that technically they can, but that plus their strength of schedule should effectively keep them out of the Top 25. That being said, their one loss came against a pretty good ASU team, other than that they've looked good.
