Amar'e Stoudemire Video: Watch Knicks Superstar Posterize Blake Griffin

Alex KayOct 13, 2011

Amar’e Stoudemire has a lot of free time on his hands with the NBA lockout in place and the first two weeks of the hopefully upcoming season already canceled.

He was on site at the ESPN offices all day yesterday discussing the lockout from the view of a player but took a little time out of his day to have some fun.

In the video you see Amar’e in his suit talking with an ESPN employee who points out that it might be some time before we see more footage of him dunking on people, something he regularly does during the season.

They bring him to a room where supposedly Blake Griffin is standing by waiting to defend the hoop.

Unfortunately it is just a cardboard cutout and a mini-hoop, but that doesn’t stop Stoudemire from taking him on with the same intensity as he would in a real NBA game.

Amar’e eyes him up and then tells the camera that this is for the fans and for the real Blake Griffin.

He then shakes his invisible defender and gets one-on-one with the cutout, takes a power hop and slams it down, bringing the rim with him and nearly putting Blake and the basket support through a window.

These two guys obviously have a respect for each other, and Stoudemire actually recognized Griffin during a regular season game in which he posterized his former teammate, Timofey Mozgov.

Griffin threw down a monster one-handed jam and seemingly hung in the air for a time that did not seem human.

Stoudemire and Griffin are two of the most dynamic dunk artists in the league, and it’s always exciting to watch them flush it down, even if it is on a mini-hoop in an office environment.

Hopefully the lockout ends soon so we can see some actual rim rattlers this year.
