Ryan LesterOct 13, 2011

Here’s a look at LestersLegends sit and start advice as you set your lineups for the sixth week of the NFL season.

Quarterbacks

Start:
Jay Cutler vs. Minnesota:  Cutler threw a trio of touchdown passes in both meetings with Minnesota last year. In two home games against the Vikings since his trade he seven TDs. The Purple are allowing 271.8 passing yards per game.

Sit:
Matt Schaub @ Baltimore:  The Ravens have allowed just three passing touchdowns all season and are tied for eihgth in the league with 212 passing yards allowed per game. He’s really going to miss Andre Johnson in this one.

Running Backs

Start:
Cedric Benson vs. Indianapolis:  The Colts, who are giving up 145.2 yards per game are wishing Benson would start serving his suspension this week. He’s averaging 4.7 yards per carry at home.

Ryan Torain vs. Philadelphia:  The Redskins will try to keep their RB situation under wraps, but how can Torain not get the start after the way he ran before the bye? The Eagles are giving up 140.2 yards per game on the ground.

Sit:
Daniel Thomas @ New York Jets:  The Jets are allowing 134.8 yards per game, but they are playing at home and Rex Ryan will look to shut down the run after the way BenJarvus Green-Ellis gashed them last week. Plus, with Matt Moore at QB the Jets can stack the box.

Wide Receivers

Start:
Marques Colston @ Tampa Bay:  Colston caught five passes for 69 yards last week and is ready to get back in starting fantasy lineups. The Bucs are giving up 254.6 yards per game.

Sit:
Torrey Smith vs. Houston: A week after his monster three-touchdown first quarter, he caught one pass for one yard. Coming off a bye, he should be ready to contribute again.

Tight Ends

Start:
Aaron Hernandez vs. Dallas: In his return from a sprained MCL, Hernandez caught five passes for 56 yards. Gronk, who was dealing with stomach issues, will be more active this week, but there is plenty to go around.

Sit:
Dustin Keller vs. Miami:  The Dolphins have allowed 307 passing yards per game, but have faced Tom Brady, Matt Schaub, and Philip Rivers. Keller has just three catches for 19 yards the past two weeks. Until he shows he’s a focal part of their offense again, he’s tough to start.

Defenses

Start:
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Indianapolis:  The Bengals are giving up just 13 points per game this year and a league best 279.6 total yards per game. The Colts are better with Painter, but they still aren’t where they need to be.

Sit:
New York Giants vs. Buffalo:  They were supposed to dominate the Seahawks last week and wound up losing. No way you can start them against the potent Bills.
