They continue to limb back into respectability, and have the guns to take down a United that are not too far removed from a couple weeks of entitlement.
After drawing with lesser side Stoke, the Red Devils managed to equal FC Basel in Champions League play, a match they could have won outright.
Many believed Sir Alex Ferguson's side had grown tired of steamrolling through the competition at every turn. The assumption is that a club playing so perfectly was destined to take a step back at some point.
The EPL clash will answer which club has the most heat at the moment. One player that could use the joy of a full three points is Wayne Rooney. The United striker was sent off against Montenegro, receiving the brunt of a nation.

The striker that was once famous for his anger boiled over in dramatic fashion. It's clear that his emotions will be front and center in a rivalry match that is sure to be passionate for every second of the 90 minutes.
That is the hope, anyway. Liverpool and United always proves to be a furious affair where bad blood takes the play to yet another level.
As both teams play for pride and prestige, the real winners will be the fans that are about to see one of the best matches of the early season.
