NFL Predictions Week 6: Philadelphia Eagles and Others Primed for a Loss

Gabe ZaldivarOct 13, 2011

Those poor Philadelphia Eagles. They have reached the lowest of lows in their efforts to capture a Super Bowl this season. The train will still be very much derailed as they take on the Redskins on Sunday.

ESPN reported Wednesday that the Eagles had called a players-only meting in a last ditch effort to regroup the team. After some numskull moves on Sunday, a meeting was the next logical step to cure the Eagles woes.

This team is not one player meeting away from turning things around though. It pains me to think that one of the most talented rosters in football will continue to sink.

I have confidence that the Eagles will turn things around at some juncture, but it just won't be this weekend. Here are three teams that are headed into certain doom this weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles can meet every day until Sunday, it still will not solve an overmatched linebacker corps that will again give up far too many yards on the ground.

The Redskins have been mixing up the offense a little more, but they can afford to fall in love with the run on Sunday. The Eagles defense will once again be the item of note in yet another loss.

This is without considering the underrated defense the Redskins have shown. This has all the signs of marquee win for Washington as the continue to assert their power in the league.

St. Louis Rams

This one is easy pickings, but I had to throw it in here for the chasm in production present between the two clubs. The worst team in the league gos against the best on Sunday.

It is almost criminal that a team such as the Packers get what is essentially a guaranteed victory. The rich will get richer in Week 6.

The Texans were my sleeper to do big things this year. Now they may just fade into oblivion following huge losses due to injuries.

The Ravens are the hot team of the moment, and will pound the ground game until the Texans yell Uncle. The loss of Mario Williams will surely be felt in this one as the Ravens dominate a injury-riddled defense.
