NFL Trade Speculation: 8 Quarterbacks Miami Dolphins Could Trade for or Sign
As the Miami Dolphins usher in the Matt Moore era in South Florida, the team is still trying to find its first win of the season.
The Dolphins, 0-4 on the season, have been under scrutiny for their coaching and team play and management may be looking for something that can give them a spark the rest of the season.
Chad Henne, the team's starter at the beginning of the season, has been sidelined with an injury, thus calling on Moore, a former Carolina Panther, to take over at the team's most glaring weakness.
But is Moore the answer to the Dolphins' prayers? Or, as some speculate, could another passer be the one who could lead this team back to respectability?
Here are some players the Dolphins could look at.
Carson Palmer
1 of 8What is he worth to the Dolphins?
The longer he rides out the year, the more I think the Bengals will try to deal him, especially since rookie Andy Dalton is playing well and has a great target in AJ Green to throw to.
Could Palmer and Brandon Marshall become fast friends in the passing game?
David Garrard
2 of 8He said the Dolphins had already contacted him about playing in Miami, but they would not make the commitment to him that he wanted.
Does this mean if they make another offer, he would listen?
Garrard is better than a handful of quarterbacks playing right now. He may want to take the time off this year and try again next year, but this may be his best opportunity to start in the NFL.
Charlie Batch
4 of 8He was a starter in Detroit and has been a part time starter in Pittsburgh when Ben Roethlisberger has been injured.
Batch would be a great transition quarterback for a team that will draft a quarterback in the 2012 NFL draft
Shaun Hill
5 of 8He sits behind Matthew Stafford, but last season Shaun Hill proved to be a pretty good passer for the Lions.
He is one of the leagues better backup quarterbacks and he has a good enough arm to stretch the defense and give Brandon Marshall a chance to do some great things in the open field.
Kyle Boller
6 of 8He is riding the Raiders' bench right now, but he could start if Jason Campbell is injured or falters.
And then there is Terrell Pryor who may get a look.
Boller could be another transition quarterback who could help for this season only.
Kyle Orton
7 of 8The most likely choice.
He is now a bench warmer in Denver after a great preseason.
He is a decent passer who can move the chains and Miami offers him a chance to heal his pride and prove he can still play.
He also would be reconnected with Brandon Marshall again from their days in Mile High.
Brett Favre
8 of 8OK, it was rumored in the offseason that Tony Sparano had considered giving Brett a call.
Let's hope this does not happen.
