Fantasy Football Week 6 Start 'Em Sit 'Em: Must-Start Defenses

We know who the league's top defenses are. They are the ones loaded with Pro Bowlers, or even future Hall of Famers.

It seems that even when they lose, they make a lot of big plays. In addition to not allowing many points, they often score on their own.

But not everyone has a defense like that. Fortunately, defense is a position that you can play based on weekly matches. You can stream your defensive spot and probably do just fine.

So, take a long look at these teams this week. If they are available, grab them and start them.

Minnesota Vikings

The Bears turn the ball over an awful lot. This isn't Jay Cutler's fault; the team just doesn't protect him. Cutler himself is actually much better than he's given credit for.

But from a fantasy perspective, that doesn't make too much of a difference. Any opponent who plays the Bears is quite likely to rack up a good amount of turnovers and sacks. That will more than make up for the points that they allow on big plays.

Buffalo Bills

I urge you to not be afraid of a few things.

One: Don't worry that the Giants score a lot of points.

Two: Don't worry about the Bills allowing a lot of points.

The Bills have actually scored a touchdown in three consecutive games.

The Bills' defense actually reminds me of the 2009 Saints. They allow a lot, but also force a lot of turnovers, making them fantasy gems.

Miami Dolphins

The Jets' defense will be the star of the show in this one, but the Dolphins will do fine. The Jets' offense is just not playing well right now.

Until they show that they can move the ball and score when they get in position, any team facing the Jets is going to have a pretty good defensive fantasy week.

The Dolphins are a bad team, but they aren't awful defensively. I see a low scoring game in this one. The Jets will have the better defense, but they are probably not available. Don't be afraid of the Dolphins.
