College Football Rankings: Controversial Top 5 Shuffle You Need to See
You will rarely find a time during the college football season where everybody agrees with the rankings, specifically in the Top 5.
There are tons of great teams that deserve to be ranked and much less that deserve to be in the Top 10.
The Top 5 is literally coveted rankings territory, so the teams that comprise it usually find themselves under quite a microscope.
The latest rankings are pretty typical, so there is not much to worry about there. That being said, I do feel there needs to be somewhat of a switch-up in the Top 5.
Here is a Top 5 shuffle that you need to see:
1. LSU
No surprises with the No. 1 ranking here. LSU is clearly the best team in the country on both sides of the ball. They've had the hardest schedule so far, and have passed all the tests that have been put in front of them.
2. Alabama
In my opinion, Alabama is the only team that can handle LSU right now. They have a dominant defense and one of the best runners in the nation in Trent Richardson.
3. Oklahoma
They've fallen from the No. 1 spot, but after watching them dismantle the Texas Longhorns at home, there is no doubting that Oklahoma is top-tier team. Their schedule has been somewhat weak, but they have a great offense and a feisty defense.
4. Stanford
As long as this team has Andrew Luck under center they will always be in the National Championship discussion. They are rolling through their schedule with very little trouble.
5. Clemson
That's right, the Clemson Tigers deserve to be in the Top 5 of the nation. They are 6-0 and undefeated in the ACC. They've played a grueling schedule so far that includes wins over ranked Auburn, Florida State and Virginia Tech. This team is really good, and they have a chance at running the table in the ACC.
