Week 6 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football: Why You Must Add Jackie Battle
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jackie Battle finally got a chance to show what he could do in Week 5, and he made the most of it.
With starting back Jamaal Charles out for the season with a torn ACL, and fellow running backs Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster not getting it done, Battle carried the load for the Chiefs against the Colts on Sunday.
Battle finished the day with 119 yards on 19 carries, while catching two passes for 21 more yards. He is a strong, powerful back with surprisingly good speed. At 6'2" and 238 pounds, he's a load to bring down.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Battle has the size and talent to be the workhorse back for the Chiefs while Charles is out. What's more, he's currently only owned in 0.8 percent of all ESPN fantasy leagues. If you need help at running back, jump on him now.
Kansas City has a bye this week, which means other players may be hesitant to snag the team's new running back because he won't make an instant impact.
Still, Battle is worth a look. He can take a pounding and still gain yards with his tough, relentless running style. The University of Houston product gained tough yards against the Colts by keeping his legs moving and almost always falling forward. On top of that, he also possesses 4.42 40-yard dash speed. This late in the season, he is a great high-upside pickup.
While Battle may not blow up for you, he's worth a waiver pickup. He could end up getting full-time carries, and—if he does—his numbers could skyrocket. Against the Colts, Jones also carried the ball 10 times. If those had gone to Battle, there is no telling how good his numbers could have been.
If you've got a roster spot open, pick Battle up and stash him for a week. Check his matchups every week and use him if one of your starters hits his bye or is under-performing.
