NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles Lead Teams Who Will Continue Free Fall

Matt FaulconerOct 12, 2011

Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles were labeled the "dream team" by Vince Young after he arrived, but the season has been more like a nightmare thus far.

The team is 1-4, the offense has turned the ball over numerous times and the defense has been a huge disappointment.

Eagles fans are in a state of disbelief right now, and things won't be changing anytime soon. However, they aren't the only ones who will continue to disappoint.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles head to the nation's capital this week to take on the Washington Redskins, who have one of the best defenses in the NFL at this point.

They have two elite pass-rushers in Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan, who are bound to worry Vick this weekend.

Vick is one of the most mobile QBs in the league, but with the pocket collapsing on him—and Orakpo and Kerrigan converging—it's going to be a long week.

The problems continue on the defensive side of the ball, where the Eagles concede 140 yards per game on the ground. The Redskins bolster a three-headed monster at RB, comprised of Ryan Torain, Tim Hightower and Roy Helu, who have rushed for a combined 126 yards per game this season.

St. Louis Rams

Is it possible to fall much further than the Rams are now? Well, they could be No. 32.

This team entered the year as one of the favorite's to win the NFC West, but that isn't going to happen.

The Rams head to Green Bay this week to take on the Packers, and will then head home after being slaughtered.

Nothing is going well for the Rams right now. They can't run the ball, they can't throw the ball and they show no hope of turning things around.

They are hoping to play better this week, but the Packers are the best team in football for a reason. This won't end well for the Rams.

Houston Texans

Some people believed the Houston Texans were one of the top five teams in the NFL just a matter of weeks ago.

They won't be in any top 15 lists after this week.

The Texans head to Baltimore to take on the Ravens, who look like Super Bowl contenders at this point in the season.

The same can't be said for the Texans, who will be without their star player on both sides of the ball. Andre Johnson will miss this game with a hamstring injury, while Mario Williams is out for the year.

Going on the road in a hostile environment will doom the Texans.
