NFL Power Rankings: Will the Lions Make a Push for No. 1?
The Green Bay Packers are relentlessly holding on to the No. 1 spot atop most experts’ power rankings and my own.
Obviously they deserve it as they are undefeated and are the defending Super Bowl Champions. Until they fall, you can’t consider moving them down.
The crazy thing is that the Packers' division rivals, the Detroit Lions, are also undefeated and breathing right down their necks.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Could the Lions conceivably pass the Packers in the power rankings any time soon? Let’s take a look.
The Packers have the Rams at home this week and then travel to Minnesota before a bye week. They then go against the Chargers at Qualcomm, and the Vikings and Buccaneers at home before a huge Week 12 showdown in Detroit.
The Lions are taking on the 49ers and Falcons at home before traveling to Denver and resting for a bye. After that, they head to Chicago, and then head back home for the Panthers.
Both teams could conceivably and most likely will lose a game before Week 12, with the Lions playing a tough 49ers team as well as a surprisingly good Panthers squad while the Packers travel to San Diego, which will be very tough.
If both teams are somehow undefeated in Week 12, it may be one of the most epic regular season games to ever take place. Two division rivals meeting late in the season for the first time with playoff implications and pride on the line.
The winner of this game will also without a doubt be the No. 1 team in the power rankings and talk of being undefeated would undoubtedly start.
This is a long ways from now and a dream scenario, as I fully expect both teams to have a loss or two going in to their first matchup, but you never know in the National Football League.
