NBA's Perfect Pick-Ups

The NBA’s Perfect Pick-Ups is a list of players that are still in free agency in a majority of fantasy leagues, that should be picked up IMMEDIATELY! Add these players to your squad, and you got yourself a great chance at making the playoffs, and maybe even winning your league (Owned percentages are through Yahoo! Fantasy NBA).

*Steve Blake (PG, POR)- OWNED 47%
Blake has picked up the pace since the start of the season and now has averaged 12.4 PPG, 4.8 APG, 2.4 RPG, and 1.2 SPG over his last five starts. Blake is surrounded by young talent and looks like a veteran on the court even though he has only played for five seasons.

Suggestion: Blake is playing very consistent this season and is a great source of threes and assists if you are in need of those categories. Pick him up if he is still available, as his owned percentage will rise in the next few days.

*Trevor Ariza (SF, LAL)- OWNED 27%
Ariza is averaging around 24 minutes per game and has seen an increase in fantasy value as of late. Trevor is a very athletic player and has lots of upside to become a great player.

Suggestion: Ariza is only owned in 27% of all Yahoo! leagues and should definitely be considered a solid pick-up for those in need of an all around player. He can certainly fill up the stat sheet in each category and his minutes will continue to rise. Pick him up if he is available!

*Brooke Lopez (C, NJ)- OWNED 59%
Rookie Brooke Lopez hasn’t gotten much publicity due to the extremely talented Derrick Rose and O.J. Mayo, but he is quietly having a solid season. Averaging nearly a double-double over his last five games with 12.2 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 2.8 BPG, Lopez is proving to be a consistent big man.

Suggestion: Although you shouldn’t trust most rookies because of how inconsistent they can be, Lopez is worth picking up if you are in need of rebounds and blocks. He is averaging 27 minutes per game and could be a great steal down the stretch.

Who knows…maybe Lopez can get in the Rookie of the Year rankings.

*Matt Barnes (SF, PHX)- OWNED 54%
Matt Barnes is averaging career numbers in minutes (29.41), points (12.29), assists (2.36), and rebounds (5.79) so far this season. Moving to Phoenix has made Barnes into an efficient fantasy player.

Suggestion: Barnes can contribute to your team with 3PTM, points, assists, and rebounds. He has a decent free-throw percentage (72.7) and has potential to improve as the season moves along.

Barnes minutes can also see an increase and with that possibility, he is worth picking up! Add him if he is available!
