Fantasy Football Week 6: Jackie Battle, Tim Tebow and 5 Waiver-Wire Must-Haves
Jackie Battle and Tim Tebow are just two of the Week 6 waiver-wire must-haves. They will both serve completely different purposes on your roster, but both could lead to key victories.
Now is certainly the time to reinforce your depth as you navigate through the bye week portion of the NFL schedule. This places a giant emphasis on waiver-wire additions.
This is a huge advantage to smart and well-informed managers. Read on for five players that will be invaluable to your season.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jackie Battle
1 of 5The Chiefs finally seem set on mercifully phasing out the slow and old Thomas Jones. They are replacing him with the younger and just-as-slow Jackie Battle.
Battle is certainly not the most talented runner, but he is a load to bring down and he will get consistently positive yards.
What really gives Battle value is the fact that he is stepping into a Chiefs offense that is just a year removed from leading the NFL in rushing.
Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow
2 of 5I am not sold at all that Tebow can be a legitimate NFL starter. However, he has a good chance to be a fantasy producer.
Tebow adds the value of being able to pick up fantasy points with his feet. This is an invaluable trait for a QB.
Tebow is a solid backup to add to your fantasy roster.
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz
3 of 5If you have read any of my fantasy waiver-wire stuff over the past three weeks and you don't have Victor Cruz, shame on you!
I have been talking this guy up for three weeks and he is just getting better and better. He is now clearly the Giants' No. 2 receiver and he is going to keep producing.
He is still available in plenty of fantasy leagues, but I am thinking this will be the last week where that is the case.
Tennessee Titans TE Jared Cook
4 of 5Once Kenny Britt went down to a season-ending knee injury, Jared Cook's role in the offense grew. He is now a consistent producer that gets plenty of targets.
Last week, Cook was second on the Titans with nine targets. He only turned that into four catches for 59 yards, but with that amount of passes being thrown his way he is going to put up some good numbers.
Cincinnati Bengals Defense
5 of 5The Cincinnati Bengals are available in over 85 percent of standard leagues on NFL.com.
They are the 10th-ranked defense in terms of fantasy points, and they have the potential to climb that ladder. This is a very solid defense with a secondary that can pick off passes and score when they do.
