Week 6 Waiver Wire: Curtis Painter and 5 Bye Week Saviors

T.J. McaloonOct 11, 2011

The bye week always finds a victim that does not pay attention to their roster, thus giving them a zero for a certain position. If you happen to play that person, who should be made fun of if they pull this stunt, then kudos to you for getting an easy win.

If you happen to BE that person who forgets to either pick someone up off of your waiver wire or forgets to fill a position in from your bench, then what the efff is wrong with you?

Fantasy football only comes around for one full day (until later in the season when games start on Thursday), with a game on Monday night. What's wrong with you that you were to busy to fill in a replacement?

If you find yourself needing some replacements, here are five players that can fill voids on your roster during this Week 6 bye week.

James Jones: Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers

1 of 5

James Jones has blown up in recent weeks as a nice option for Aaron Rodgers in this Packers offense. In two straight weeks, he's had a touchdown and three or more catches. His touchdown catch against the Falcons last week was a 70-yard grab.

Jones is available in over 89 percent of Yahoo's! leagues, with a game coming up against the winless St. Louis Rams.

Stevan Ridley: Running Back, New England Patriots

2 of 5

Ridley is apart of a crowded Patriots backfield, but, if he can get off to a hot start against a weak Dallas Cowboys run defense, he will have a huge day.

When the rookie can start off hot, as he did in Week 4 against Oakland, he will get you close to 100 yards and a touchdown.

WIth his bad week last week, Ridley should be available in your league, as people who picked him up after the Oakland game probably dropped him.

Curtis Painter: Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts

3 of 5

Curtis Painter may be 0-3 on an 0-5 Indianapolis Colts team, but he has four touchdowns in a two in a half games played this year.

This week, he goes against a Bengals team that is one of the better defenses in the league against the pass, but if the Colts get down by a lot early in the game, it will force Painter to throw the ball around 40 times.

He may not have the best stats ever in Week 6, but he will net you 15-20 points this upcoming week.

Joel Dreesssen: Tight End, Houston Texans

4 of 5

The Texans are heading into this week without superstar wide receiver Andre Johnson, which will open the passing game up to Dreessen again.

Last week, Joel had a huge game, going for 112 yards and a touchdown on five receptions.

This week, the Texans travel to the very tough Baltimore Ravens. People who pick up Dreesseen can expect another big day from the Texans tight end, as the Ravens will shut down the running game.

Also, the Texans still don't have a wide receiver stepping up for Johnson.

Minnesota Defense/Special Teams

5 of 5

All that you need to know about this week about this Minnesota Vikings team is that they play the Chicago Bears and their horrible offensive line.

Pick up the Vikings and watch your point total sky rocket from all the sacks and possible interceptions thrown by Bears quarterback, Jay Cutler

But on the season, the Vikings have 16 sacks, six interceptions, one fumble recovery and one special team return.
