Portland Blazers Game 20: The Blazers Are $$$
I was going to title this editorial: Darius Songalia Should NOT Guard Steve Blake...
But after the game I had to go to Packouz Jewelrs annual party at the Mac Club, a club for wealthy people who gather at a VERY EXPENSIVE gym they have membership in...
At the party, I had to dress in a nice suit (which I dress for at work, so it was no big deal...) and mingle with people who had mad $$$.
Mr. Packouz was busy selling jewelry (for example the necklace I would buy my lady, if I had one, was $81,000...) and people were getting stiff goblets of wine, MacTarnahans Ale, fresh roast beef, fruit platters, and those thin cut slices of french bread with fancy cheeses and meat on them.
Not my crowd...but the food was BOMB.
Anyhow, my point is that after watching the Portland Trail Blazers take out the Washington Wizards, go unbeaten in the east, undefeated at home, gain the second best record in the west...The Blazers are $$$.
Pure $$$.
Mad $$$.
CRAZY $$$.
Roy is turning out to be as good as LeBron and Kobe in clutch late game situations. Rudy is making plays that are better than Manu Ginobli. Oden and Pryzbilla are the two best combination of centers in the LEAGUE.
Oh, and Steve Blake is the best point guard our team could ASK for.
While at this party, there were several thousand people huddled in groups, and as I passed each group, I could not help but pick up how many people were saying things like, "See the game today?" "How about those Blazers?" and "This is the most fun I've had watching the Blazers in over a DECADE."
People with $$$ talking about people who ARE $$$.
As for the Washington Wizards, let's just say they are not exactly Gandalf the Grey, Merlin, or even Flagg from Stephen King novels. I like the Wizards, but their team has had so many injuried...they have little $$$.
One day they'll get Agent Zero (Gilbert Arenas) back and make a playoff push...but tonight they got taken out.
Blazers are too experienced, deep, hungry, and have way too much $$$.
But careful Portland...because you know what they say about $$$.
It doesn't last forever. You have to manage it well...
Friday night we play the world champ Boston Celtics on ESPN.
If we win that game...
If we win...
IF...
