Fantasy Preview: Kansas City Vs. Denver

Tanner ThomsDec 3, 2008

That's right Brandon Stokley, you are No. 1—No. 1 in your division. Denver has a chance to clinch their division with a win and a San Diego loss.

On Sunday, Denver had their most impressive victory yet, defeating the highly praised New York Jets. A 17-point victory proved that Denver can play amongst the big dogs.

Denver's MVP candidate Jay Cutler threw for 357 yards and two touchdowns through the air, with 90 of those yards going to Tony Scheffler. New York couldn't stop Denver at all costs last week. Peyton Hillis also had a big day rushing for 129 yards and a score.

With Denver finally not being so one-dimensional, they are 7-5 and have a three-game lead over the San Diego Chargers.

As for the Broncos Week 14 opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs were victorious against the Raiders 20-13. Larry Johnson rushed for Kansas City's only offensive touchdown. The other was on a field goal try that was faked by Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski.

Kansas City defeated Denver earlier this year 33-19. The Chiefs handed Denver their first loss. Now, the Broncos are looking for revenge on their division rivals. Denver has returning stars that will impact their defense even more.

Denver may looked banged up, but it's not as serious as it appears. D.J. Williams will be back, which is huge in itself, but when you also count Champ Bailey into the mix, it looks even better. The only players that could be out are Ekuban and McCree.

As for the Chiefs, the offensive line could be missing a few starters. Tamba Hali should play even with the nagging ankle injury.

Final score: Denver 31, Kansas City 17

Kansas City won't be as lucky as they were the first time. Denver is intent on winning this game and winning the division. Jay Cutler should have a good day against a bad pass defense. Kansas City must use Larry Johnson to his full capabilities if they want to keep this one close. Keep in mind he nearly had 200 yards the first time these two teams met.
