Ryan Mathews does not appear to be in any danger of missing Week 7's duel with the New York Jets. He is expected to resume practicing Monday or Wednesday, according to San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee. "[Norv] Turner also said Ryan Mathews (calf strain) could return to practice Monday. If not, he is expected back Wednesday," reports Acee.

Ryan Mathews is expected to play Week 7, thanks in part due to this week's bye.
"Ryan Mathews’ strained calf would likely leave him unable to play if the Chargers had a game this week, but the belief is the bye will allow him time to heal," according to San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee.

Ryan Mathews took to his Twitter account to answer a couple comments from fans after the game and didn't seem overly concerned about his injuries.
Barring any setbacks, Mathews appears to be on track to play in Week 7. The second-year Fresno State product has been one of the league's most dynamic backs, so hopefully injuries don't start holding him back.

Matt Stroup, who writes the "Football Daily Dose" for Rotoworld, passes along some encouraging information about Mathews. With Mike Tolbert suffering a concussion on Sunday, the Chargers backfield is a banged-up place right now.
"In Chargers RB news, Ryan Mathews came out of Week 5 with calf and wrist injuries, and Mike Tolbert sustained a concussion. Despite the fact that Mathews reportedly left the stadium on crutches, indications are that neither of his injuries is serious, which is a big relief after the emerging RB1 ran 24 times for 125 yards.
"
Assuming the early reports are correct, 13 days should be more than enough to heal a couple minor ailments. Mathews has been a marquee fantasy option through five weeks, and his owners would struggle to replace him.
