WWE: How Dolph Ziggler Can Reach True Main Event Status
I always seem to forget that Dolph Ziggler is technically a one time World Champion in WWE because it is rarely mentioned and he has not been in the hunt for the World Title since the Royal Rumble, when he and Edge had the match of the night.
That night in January I was rooting for Dolph to take home the gold against Edge because he had proven in recent months that he was a top talent in the ring and on the mic. His pairing with Vickie Guerrero has been beneficial in that she is one of the most hated people in WWE.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Now he is the US Champion on Raw, and he seems to be in the tag team division with Jack Swagger now. Hopefully the WWE's plan is to have him hold the tag title and the US Title at the same time like they did with The Miz.
When Miz held those belts he was the biggest jerk in the WWE about it. He claimed he was the best because of the amount of gold he had. Ziggler could do the same thing as he is a brash cocky heel in the same way Miz is.
I am sure everyone remembers the three matches Ziggler had with Daniel Bryan. The two put on such a good match during a PPV event that WWE officials had them wrestle again on Raw, and then again on Smackdown all in the span of a week.
The two men showed that the best action in WWE was not always in the main event match, and together they tore the house down every single time.
Ziggler can do this same thing with many superstars who are of the same caliber athlete as he is.
His journey has been a tough one to say the least. When he first arrived on the scene he was a part of the male cheer leading stable known as The Spirit Squad. He was one half of the tag team champions with them, but the group was mainly used to get over the newly reformed Degeneration X.
Ziggler is now the sole surviving member of the Spirit Squad and he has pushed past the horrible gimmick to be one of the most talked about young stars the WWE has.
I hope he continues to push forward and does not become frustrated with not being in the Title scene because I would hate to see his talents go to waste in TNA or the Indy scene.
He is a top flight athlete who deserves the spot he has, but the question remains, how can he break through the barrier in front of him to become a main event level star?
His work ethic should be enough, but that is not how it works in WWE. The environment there is political and can be tough to navigate for a person who wants to stay out of the way.
Vince McMahon has seen something in Dolph which is why he is where he is in his career, but what more can be done to prove that Dolph belongs in the ring with Orton, Cena, Punk and the rest of the top guys in the game.
We will see tonight how Dolph goes forward with the walkout storyline, but I am looking forward to the future where he is one of the leaders of the locker room and one of the main event stars of WrestleMania.
He may not be ready to hold the whole company on his shoulders at this point, but I have no doubt he will get there. He has a long career ahead of him as long as he continues to learn and does not let the pressures get to him.
What do you think Dolph Ziggler needs to do in order to become a bonified main event star?
