Top Five Reasons Auburn Needs Tommy Tuberville

While it is rumored that Tommy Tuberville is out at Auburn, there is nothing short of a firing frenzy in college football.

Certainly, the Auburn Tigers have struggled mightily in 2008, but gauge other teams that have quarterback issues—most of them are not doing well. Quarterback play will make and break you in college football. Being that there are still more issues in the program, Auburn would be crazy if they do in fact fire coach Tuberville and here are five reasons why.

1. Wins Over Alabama: The hated Alabama Crimson Tide is just up the road and Tuberville has beaten the legendary program like an unwanted step child for years.

So, Auburn lost to Alabama this season? Well, this just in, no one has beaten the Tide this season. Tuberville is 7-3 over Alabama with a run of six in a row. I thought it was all about beating the rival?

2. SEC Division Titles: Tuberville has won the SEC West five times since 1999, including three in a row. He also led Auburn to an SEC Championship win in 2004 en route to an undefeated season. Pretty good considering how good the SEC has been in the past decade.
