But Peterson wasn’t the only fantasy stud from last week. There were four other players that not only had a big day, but, will continue to dazzle for your team the rest of the year.
Furthermore, if you can find some of these players on your free agent waiver wire, you should pick them up as soon as you are done reading this column.
Adrian Peterson, Running Back, Minnesota Vikings
Peterson had all of his three touchdowns in the first quarter against the Arizona Cardinals this week. It’s nothing new to Peterson owners that he can and will put up big numbers every week. Through six games this year, Peterson has six touchdowns and 498 rushing yards.
Next week, the Vikings are at Chicago, where the Bears rank 25th in rushing defense this year.
Victor Cruz, Wide Receiver, New York Giants
Cruz exploded onto the fantasy football scene in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, scoring twice on three receptions with 110 yards. Yesterday, Cruz scored once while catching eight passes for 161 yards against the Seahawks.
Next week, Cruz and the Giants play host to the Buffalo Bills, who rank 26th in passing defense.
Ben Roethlisberger, Quarterback, Pittsburgh Steelers
Roethlisberger had disappointed owners through four games this season, but yesterday against the Titans he went off for five touchdown passes and 228 yards. In four games prior, he had three touchdown passes total.
Roethlisberger and the Steelers play a top-10 passing defense in the Jaguars, however, the Jags did give up two touchdown passes to Bengals rookie Andy Dalton last week.
Fred Jackson, Running Back, Buffalo Bills
Jackson has been picking up the fantasy stats in the last two weeks, while Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been disappointing his owners. Last week against the Eagles, Jackson scored once while rushing for 111 yards. Prior to this game, Jackson had a touchdown in each game this year.
Next week, Jackson goes up against the 21st rushing defense in the Giants.
Pierre Garçon, Wide Receiver, Indianapolis Colts
Here is all you need to know about Garçon's season this year with quarterback Curtis Painter. Painter has four career touchdown passes, and all of them have gone to Garçon. Last week against the Chiefs, Garçon had two touchdown catches with 125 yards.
Next week against the Cincinnati Bengals, Garçon will continue to be Painter's top target.
Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback, Green Bay Packers
Rodgers' two touchdown passes and 396 yards passing against the Atlanta Falcons last night was just another typical performance from the Packers quarterback. For the year, Rodgers is on pace to have a career year in passing touchdowns, surpassing his total of 30 touchdowns.
Next week, the Packers are against the winless Rams, who have the 13th passing defense in the NFL.
Hopefully, these five players somehow affected your fantasy team this week. As for Cruz and Garçon if they’re available in your league go pick them up now!
