Chicago Marathon 2011 Results: Liliya Shobukhova Has Nothing on Amber Miller

Richard LangfordOct 10, 2011

Lillya Shobukhova won the 2011 Chicago Marathon, but Amber Miller stole the show.

Shobukhova became the first three-time defending champion of the event. She did it by running a time of 2:18:20. That made her just the third woman ever to record a time under 2:20:00. Her winning time was just 12 minutes behind the record time turned in by Moses Mosop, the winner of the men's event.

The accomplishment is simply jaw dropping. I have no comprehension of how a person can run 26.2 miles in a day let alone under two and a half hours. Still, that accomplishment seems more likely than what Amber Miller did at Sunday's marathon.

Amber Miller's Accomplishment

Amber Miller proudly crossed the finish line of the Chicago Marathon after having run the first half of the race and walking the second.

Miller then celebrated her triumph in super unique fashion: she gave birth.

Yes, you read that right. Miller, who was almost 39 weeks pregnant, gave birth after finishing the marathon.

According to wgntv.com, Miller gave birth to her healthy seven pound, 13 ounce baby girl, June, at 10:29 p.m.

You think Miller was tired by then? I can't even imagine. I'd have to sleep for 13 years after a day like that. Miller, however, was probably ready to go biking.
