Week 6 Waiver Wire: Darrius Heyward-Bey and 3 Smart WR Pickups

Week 5 of the NFL season gave us a good look at some wide receivers who have proven they can be good contributors to your fantasy football team.

Bye weeks and injuries will cause you to change up your fantasy team roster a lot in the coming weeks, and you have to find players on the waiver wire to survive this tough period.

Let's take a look at three smart wide receiver pickups.

1. Darrius Heyward-Bey

Darrius Heyward-Bey hasn't shown us the talent he had in college until this season, and the Oakland Raiders receiver has so much speed it's scary.

Heyward-Bey has 11 catches for 214 yards and one touchdown the past two weeks, and quarterback Jason Campbell is making him a big part of the passing offense.

2. Kevin Walter

With Houston Texans all-pro wide receiver Andre Johnson set to miss a few weeks with an injury, Walter will have more of a responsibility in the prolific Texans passing offense.

Quarterback Matt Schaub will look for Walter often next week, who has been a dependable receiver for years.

3. Victor Cruz 

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is not a fluke, he is for real, and if he's still available in your league go grab him right now.

Cruz caught eight passes for 161 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, and has been a deep threat for quarterback Eli Manning.

Cruz will remain a big part of the Giants offense for weeks to come.
