The official trailer has been released for John Cena's new movie, entitled The Reunion, which is yet another low-budget offering from the ever-so-struggling WWE Studios.
Cena plays one of three brothers, bequeathed $3 million dollars by their deceased father. The major stipulation that doubles as the movie's plot is that all three brothers must start a business together in order to be entitled to the generous donation left by their father.
Inspired by the kidnapping of one of the wealthiest men in the country, the trio of brothers decide to open a private investigation agency.
It's City Slicker's meets the Caucasian version of Medea's Big Happy Family with a little bit of the A-Team thrown in.
Judging by the minute and a half trailer, Reunion looks to be another WWE film laced with corny humor geared towards a younger audience.
In a recent shareholder's meeting, Vince McMahon said of offerings from WWE Studios that the strategy was to hit a bunch of "singles and doubles" with a series of low-budget films.
Cena's track record in film, not to mention the track record of WWE Studios, suggest that this may be another strike out for the embattled studio that just announced a new studio head in light of sour box office figures.
This will be the fourth movie from WWE Studios featuring their top star. The previous three, The Marine, 12 Rounds and Legendary were met with lukewarm response both critically and commercially.
