BCS Rankings 2011: Michigan and Other Teams That Are Horribly Overrated
The worst part about the BCS rankings is the fact that one to many overrated teams seem to weasel their way into some pretty high profile rankings.
Any team can make the Top 25, but what I'm more concerned with here are the teams that made the Top 10, yet don't deserve it whatsoever.
Be it an undefeated team with a cupcake schedule or just a big named team with way too much hype, it happens every year and there is almost nothing we can do about it.
Well, almost nothing.
What we can do is acknowledge these teams as overrated, and at the very least try to give the credit where it is due.
Right now, the coaches polls are still the name of the game, but even those are somewhat off as well.
Here are few teams that are horribly overrated:
Michigan
Michigan does have a great offense and one of the best quarterbacks in the nation in Denard Robinson, but there is no way that they should be ranked No. 10 in the nation. Their schedule has been incredibly vanilla and they've put up a ton of meaningless numbers.
Oklahoma
Oklahoma is a great team and they are one of the better teams in the country, but they should not be ranked anywhere near No. 1. Their first real test was against the Texas Longhorns, which they passed with flying colors, but other then that game and a win over a beat up Florida State team, they have played no teams worth mentioning.
Oregon
The Ducks have really picked things up since their Week 1 loss to LSU, but that game in itself essentially took them out of the running in my opinion. They've looked good in wins against Nevada, Missouri State, Arizona and California, but the strength of schedule is rather weak.
