Is Chris Bosh MVP Worthy?

Brandon RibakDec 3, 2008

Some say it is still too early to determine who the MVP of the NBA will be.
I think not.

To be crowned MVP of the NBA a player has to qualify three requirements.

1. Average outstanding/career numbers and set himself apart from every other player in the league

2.Take charge and make their team better as a whole

3.Take their team to the playoffs

1. Already 17 games into the NBA season, Chris Bosh is averaging a ridiculous 26.59 PPG, 10.29 RPG, 2.53 APG, and nearly one block per game. His scoring is currently at a career best and his re-bounds are .45 shy of a new career high. Bosh has 10 double-doubles so far, and has put up 30+ points in seven games this season including two 40+ point games. To add to that, CB4 is shooting 83.4% from the free-throw line and 53.5% from the field. Chris Bosh has clearly set himself apart from every other big man in the NBA this season.

2. As the captain of the Toronto Raptors, Chris Bosh has a lot of responsibility. He is relied upon to help his teammates improve their game and make them successful NBA players. Bosh has a tremendous amount of heart and determination and with that, he takes charge in making his team better.

3. With the addition of Jermaine O'Neal in the off-season, the Raptors are now a top contending team in the Eastern Conference. Jermaine is a 12 year veteran that knows how to play the game. With Chris Bosh at the Power Forward position, Jermaine gets to play his favorite role at the Center spot.

Jose Calderon is the point-guard of the team and has outstanding chemistry with Chris Bosh over the past few seasons. The 06-07 first round draft pick Andrea Bargnani is showing signs of improvement, and Jamario Moon has extreme upside with his great athleticism.

If Bosh can continue his dominate playing and keep his teammates heads up after each and every game, win or lose, the Raptors will make it to the playoffs this season.

CB4 has the potential to meet the three requirements and if the Raptors do indeed make the playoffs, Chris Bosh could be in for a career season with an MVP trophy to add to his empty shelf.

What do you think? Does Bosh have a chance at winning MVP this season, or are there better players in the way? Check out www.LayupDrill.com for more daily news on NBA fantasy tips, rumors, and game re-caps!
