UFC 136 Results: Chael Sonnen Doesn't Think Anderson Silva Will Fight Him
A man on a mission, Chael Sonnen rolled through Brian Stann at UFC 136. With the win, Sonnen took the opportunity to call for a rematch with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
"I am not here to be one of the guys," Sonnen said in an interview with MMA Fighting. "I've got plenty of money and plenty of fame. I'm after 12 pounds of gold."
Never one to shy away from criticizing Silva, Sonnen questioned whether or not "The Spider" would accept a rematch.
"He's a coward," Sonnen said. "I truly don't expect him to take the fight."
In his post-fight interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Sonnen said that he wanted his rematch with Silva to take place on Super Bowl weekend. While the fight hasn't been confirmed by the UFC, Sonnen hinted that he was told that date could be an option.
"I have my reasons (for mentioning Super Bowl weekend)," Sonnen said.
